The Dream: the table is lavishly decorated, the tree is upright, bright and sparkly, the guests have all arrived on time, and the kids sit at their table like the little sweethearts that they are.
The Reality: you mother-in-law showed up late (again!), kitty found a special ornament and brought the tree down and Johnny decided NOT to share his mash potatoes with Sarah leading to a full on food fight.
We know that the holidays aren’t always picture perfect… but they don’t have to be! It’s the memories that we make together as families that really count in this special month of celebration. Here’s how our December Featured Fans beautifully style spaces that fit their real lives.

What are your plans for the holidays? Any special traditions or memories?

This year (being the first year in our new home) we are hosting our family for Christmas Dinner. We pick a weekend we can all spend time together playing games, exploring, and toasting in merriment. As for a tradition, the Christmas china is a new, but familiar addition. It’s the same china my parents collected while growing up; it’s discontinued and I received this set as a gift. As long as we’re together and having fun–that’s the best tradition!

How would you describe your home style?

We live in a 1927 English Tudor and our home style is considered transitional, a mix of modern and traditional. It’s both comfortable and classic.

Why did you pick the piece(s) that you did?

We picked the Ashley HomeStore Urbanology Ranimar dining room furniture because it not only had the reclaimed, industrial feel, but still kept the classic feel with the soft ivory chairs (what some call industrial –chic). The quality of this set was incomparable to anything else we could find! It was EXACTLY what we were looking for!

What are your plans for the holidays? Any special traditions or memories?

My husband and I both love the holidays but especially this year, being the first Christmas in our new home. It’s extra special for us to have family and friends celebrate with us and create memories in our new space.

How would you describe your home style?

I would say my home style is casual chic. I love beautiful things but want my home to feel inviting and comfortable for family and friends. Mixing new pieces with family heirlooms has created a home that I think is both beautiful and meaningful for us.

Why did you pick the piece(s) that you did?

There were so many beautiful pieces at Ashley, it was difficult to choose! I decided on the Kieran sofa and loveseat because they were beautiful with the back tufting and also super comfortable. The Milari side chair was the perfect piece to complement them and our cat, Jasper, has claimed the chair as his own!

What are your plans for the holidays? Any special traditions or memories?

Our plans for the holidays are to spend as much time as possible with family and enjoy each other’s company. One of our traditions is having a big party on Christmas Eve. We enjoy an amazing fancy dinner, play games, and do a small gift exchange.

How would you describe your home style?

I would say my home style is bright and airy with a modern flair. I love simple lines and crisp white!

Why did you pick the piece(s) that you did?

We picked our sofa from Ashley HomeStore because of its simple lines, durable fabric and neutral gray color. It’s contemporary but can go with any style of furniture!
